Install the Tracking Pixel

The InHaus pixel is what lets us track visits, sessions, and the full customer journey from first click to purchase. This page walks you through installing it on your Shopify store. Install takes under a minute and no manual code is required.

What the pixel does

The pixel is a small script that runs on every page of your Shopify store. It captures page views, cart events, checkout progress, and the final order, then matches each event back to a customer session so we can tell you exactly which channels drove each purchase. It runs as a Shopify Web Pixelsandbox, so it can't touch your theme code or conflict with other apps.

Install in 3 steps

Everything happens through the Shopify integration. No code to paste.

Open Settings, Integrations

In your InHaus dashboard, click Settings in the sidebar and then Integrations. You'll see a list of supported platforms - Shopify, Meta Ads, Google Ads, Klaviyo.

Connect Shopify

Find the Shopify card at the top of the list and click Connect. You'll be redirected to your Shopify admin to authorize InHaus. Grant the permissions when prompted (read_orders, read_customers, write_pixels) and you'll be sent back to the dashboard.

Pixel installs automatically

The moment the OAuth flow completes, we call Shopify's Web Pixel API and install the pixel on your store for you. No theme edits, no code, no snippet to paste. Expect the first events to start flowing within 30 seconds of your next store visit.
That's it.Once Shopify is connected, the "Set Up Tracking Pixel" task in your Getting Started checklist will auto-complete within a few minutes of the first pageview firing. No action required on your end.

How to verify the pixel is firing

  1. Open Pixel Activity from the sidebar in InHaus. You should see a live stream of events as visitors land on your store.
  2. Open your store in an incognito window and browse a product page. Within a few seconds the pageview should appear in the Pixel Activity stream with your session id, landing page URL, and any UTM parameters.
  3. Complete a test purchase. The order event should appear with all line items and discount codes captured.
  4. If nothing shows up after a minute of activity, check Settings, Integrations and confirm the Shopify card shows Connected (green). If it says Error, click Reconnect.

Troubleshooting

  • Shopify won't connect.If the OAuth flow fails, check that you're the store owner or have permissions to install apps. Shopify restricts Web Pixel installs to admins.
  • Pixel Activity is empty after install.Try a fresh incognito browser visit to your storefront. Web pixels don't fire on ad-blocked browsers or on internal Shopify admin pages.
  • Events are firing but orders aren't matching. Open Settings, Integrations and double-check the Shopify webhooks are registered for orders/create and orders/updated. These should set up automatically during install.
  • I already had a previous tracking tool installed.InHaus runs in an isolated Web Pixel sandbox and won't conflict with other tracking scripts (Meta pixel, Google Analytics, etc). You can keep them both installed.
